NIA National Insurance Agency, Inc., National Capital and AAAC, Headquarters moved to Denton County

All company headquarters are moved from the city of Addision, Dallas County to the City of Crossroads, 76227, the county of Denton.

The Primary Share Holder say's the large population of Grad Students, eager to learn, work and begin a a career made this move simple and cost effective.  The Denton County offices actually hold more space for training new agents, licensing and administration will all be from Denton County.

The former home offices in Addison now consist of nothing more than training facilities and appointment setting facilities for the companies.  The long range plan for remaining in Addison is not one seen fitting our business models or company growth.

Many of the current staff already lived in Denton County and drove to Addison from Denton which this will save each of them approximately two hours per day on the commute.  Offices are already functional and running and the transition was a smooth one.

I can remember when we had a manager who seemed devious in his actions.  I was never comfortable in his presence or listening to his thought process.  If I do not trust someone the relationship is over.  My trust was beginning to erode and I began to see the real person for what they were, as hard as they tried to hide themselves from me, I saw it.

It ended quickly, we will never deal with dishonesty or negativity in any way.  I enjoy working and going to work every day very much, I always have, but when you begin to walk in the door and you see a face that makes you want to puke or makes you feel a sense of mistrust and manipulation.  That relationship is over.
They can think they are fooling you, they are not...it's waiting for the right time and let them go.  Sometimes it's very public, some people bring out the worst in you.  Get rid of them.

I can honestly say, today, I love running NIA and associated companies, dealing with our agents, managers and in house employees.  We made a conscious decision to hire only qualified insurance personnel.  We decided to drug test. While many people think pot should be legalized, I for one do not.  It was a very, very major problem with a large part of an older staff.  I fired 8 people.  Many wondered what is he doing? 
I knew exactly what I was doing, I waited for the right time and acted.  My companies have never been more profitable nor more respected in this industry for a fantastic job on quality. 
You cannot hire people based upon price and first impression.  Do background checks and drug tests.  Stupidity cannot tolerated nor employed.  Unstable mental people cannot be in your operation in any capacity. 
If you are the employer, you own all the computers, the equipment, have your IT dept monitor everything, monitor all calls....it's your operation and you would be shocked at what some people like to do while on the clock.  It is truly shocking when you look and monitor.

But look at the outcome, a fantastic group of employees running a fantastic company that everyone enjoys coming to work at.  No mental cases walking around in work boots, wild hair cuts.  If you have an employee that you would not take to a meeting at your bank, your insurance carrier, get rid of them, life is to short.  It's your company and your impression you are leaving.
If you have an old woman with hair like a skunk, and you go to a meeting, what will be talked about when you leave?  The strange looking person with the crazy hair. This is business, you are creating an impression and if you leave your impression with Super Gay Men and women with crazy hair, your overall impression is a company with strange employees.  It will never work,
Young smart ass employees who think they can speak to your sales reps with no respect will ruin your reputation and your business. Drug test them and fire them.
These are lessons from Larry...very valuable lessons that will save you many, many thousands of dollars....

Sales Tips and Thoughts - Larry McClendon

In the very, very competitive industry of sales, there are several mindsets when it comes to the insurance industry.  My best friend Red Little who recently passed away 3 weeks away from his 90th birthday.  Was a powerhouse of knowledge and strength when it came to sales and attitude.  He grew up riding a mule, went to owning two insurance companies, airplanes pilots, mercedes and mayback's.
I found that fascinating...a self made man in every sense of the word.
He told me that from his very humble beginnings he had to consistently work on his own attitude of which he created rules.  He would not associate nor stay in the company of negative people.  He felt negativity was a cancer to anyone in sales and in fact anyone with the desire to succeed and prosper could not be around negativity or negative people.

He taught me to envision your dreams, your desires and ask for Devinne intervention on prosperity.  He said there is nothing wrong with asking for prosperity.  He also said prosperity will never happen to a lazy, negative person.  Dishonesty will always be met with like from our creator.  I found his candor so interesting, I think that is one of the reasons we became so close in business and personal friends.  I asked so many questions and advise it had to become a game for him....I honestly think he enjoyed talking business with someone who soaked up every detail he offered.
He told me that even though I might be taking in allot of life experience to apply to my business and life, he was also learning from me.  I was very surprised when he told me that he learned so much of the new business practices of Internet, advertising, less overhead, less employees.  He often asked me how can me and my companies do the millions in business that we do with over 1/2 the staff that he did?
I said Red, it's simple if you think about it.  Your from a time when you have managers and each one has an executive assistant.  We have none of that. The days of a manager with an assistant is really over.  With the emails and paperless communication there is no need for it.  He really soaked up my business practice and did away with many of his 54 years of habit and way of doing business for so many years.
He wanted and set up his company to thrive after his passing, most thought he would have me step in and run his operation however I was not really interested, I had my own companies to run.  I never wanted anything from this man except his friendship.  His long time employees saw me as a threat though.  I would notice many inefficiencies and tell him.  He would act on it and you can only imagine how that was met with ill will. At his age he did not understand the computers and Internet.  I would walk by and see them on Facebook or myspace and i would tell him, they are playing.  This caused friction.
I had one employee who actually thought he could replace my friendship and he tried and tried and Red was really turned off by his presence, attitude and style.  This person was so outwardly gay that he could not hide it as hard as he tried. His speech pattern, his dress, his walk, was all so embarrassing and disgusting to even gay people.
In my opinion there are gay people and then there are flaming gay people who have a learned speech pattern the pick up where the "s's" in their sentences are extremely elongated and it's disgusting.  No one is taught to speak like that, no one is taught to speak and act like the Church lady from Saturday Night Live, but it was right there in front of us and it was just very disgusting.  Walk into a bank, a business, a meeting with someone like this and watch the looks from the people, they looked at me like what is this?  I think I gave this person some legitimacy of his position however as I learned his weakness in life, his entire being made me ill to look at and listen to. 
My friend Red said there are many personalities in life we will run across however trying to deal with a person who is a detriment to him being around us and our companies was not a good situation.
At Red's funeral the Sheriff and Red's good friend JD, came to me and asked why was this person there?  I said I have no idea...they said Red hated him..should we throw him out?
I said that's up to you, I am here to pay my respect to Red and his wife, only.  Those long time employees, hicks from the sticks were term limits that should have been fired long ago.  You cannot build a company to go on into perpetuity with people who have no vision for growth.  Then you have a marketing division who is looking out for nothing but themselves.  It's sad to say, but Red's dream was gone in months.  He chose the wrong people to run his operation.  In efforts or overprotect, he picked people with greedy hands and greedy minds and forgot why they were there, to market.
That is the big mistake made that ended his dream, I am sad to say.
He forgot what he told me, in your life you will only have true friends that you can count on one hand.  At his age i knew he was telling me the truth....but he forgot, Business, his business needed that friend to live on as he wanted.  His friend would and could have saved his empire and he forgot.  He was manipulated in the end by those people, but it's sad he forgot what he taught me, the friends on that hand are key,  which I will never forget.
I miss you Red! 

Secret Million's

Does anyone really every know how much money anyone has?  Larry McClendon has been in the health industry for 22 years, with fully staffed offices of lawyers, accountants, CPA"s and many, many business ventures and corporations.

So Million's are the question?  How do people with millions protect themselves against opportunists? Frivilous lawsuit's and dishonest employee's. it's call street smarts.  Highly paid CPA's, lawyers and accountants.

Million's will never be stolen from a smart millionair, what do you think?  The likely hood of a broke employee, getting one over on a very business savvy business man or woman who has been in varous business' their whole like is highly unlikely.

It's comical to watch a poor pathetic riding on everything lawyer from a strip mall try to figure out where are the millions?  He was not only dupped by his client who though he could outsmart the leader, but his entire team of scoundrels trying to take something they cannot find.

That is very comical....almost worth a laugh out loud many times...

Employer's who make Millions and Employee's who feel entitled to circumvent your system and work.

I had and employee, years ago who is dead now...I thought he was one of the best, he came in early, did a great job, was very detailed.  This was all what was perceived to the eye.  What I learned was the reason he was coming in early was he was building his own business using my agents lists, my paper/letter folder, my copy machines, my supplies and paper and most of all my postage machine to try and start a vitamin business.  He was an alcoholic and strung out on Meth.  Meth Mouth.

It was not my personality to fire and have security walk them out of the building but his one was.  If you have employees who want to come in early, over the weekends or stay late with little to no supervision, there is usually a reason, and the reason is usually at your expense.

We had a surveillance system and the manager was so smitten with this little girl that she would allow her to get away with long lunches, coming in late, all sorts of perks while this woman lusted after this little 19 year old, the supervisor was married.  Work place affairs are very common, fire them, if they will cheat on their spouse they will cheat on you with money, time and valuable business information.

Again, I remind you to drug test your employees, over the years I cannot tell you the number of young employees calling in sick.  I thought ok, I have done this now for 22 years and I am here every day, these people are ill at least one day a week.  They typically are alcoholics or pot heads or worse.  I had one employee as she pulled into the parking lot one morning, the police stopped her and smelled pot, they brought in the drug dogs and took her to jail.  She was fired immediately, she was also a pretty little girl and a favorite of the supervisor as well.
If you notice your supervisor leaving for lunch every day, look them in the eyes when they get back, then call for a drug test.  You will be shocked.
These are some of my lessons for keeping your millions, yours and not losing some dollars to worthless trash who you might trust, might like as a person, but truth always comes out, trash always goes to the dump.
Always check up on any and all reporting by an outside CPA and outside people.

NEVER allow anyone to buy loyalty to them with your money.  You will be amazed at how many think you have so much money it's ok to steal for themselves, they feel a sense of entitlement.

Million's of dollar in income is not that big of a deal in today's world.  We have homes, cars, business', revenue and many employees, you will have many bloody noses, but as with the fighting Irish you will win in the end! 
karma is real, a thief will have true karma.  Stealing is like a curse, they will die a miserable person, old, ugly, lonely, sad and pathetic.  It is sad to see such desperation in the face of pure ignorance on how to make money in some of these people. 
All you can ever really offer someone is an opportunity!  All that person can do is prove or disprove your good will.
Idea's are a dime a dozen, unless you put on to work.
Never confuse motion for action.
This might make me sound harsh, but i will never hire another homosexual.  From my experience of theft and loss, deviousness, hiding or being a raving homo that is an embarrassment to be around and listen to.  My experience with homosexual employees has not been a good one, so fool me once.
I had one employee drive a company car around a high water sign and destroy the motor in a brand new company car, he was high.
I had another employee total out another brand new company car.  Then had the nerve to say that "I", Larry, was to stingy to allow him to drive another one of my "7" cars!" 
Keep your millions...Make your million's....
Just because a company has an office and officers, it can be ran by dishonest people.  Frankly, I believe some salaried employees who we entrepreneurs deal with are very jealous of the money we make.  I watch every move they make.
If you see a character flaw, it runs deep.  Don't think you can fix it, move on and make your million's and keep your millions.
There is not redistribution.  Do you ever think someone is going to give you anything?  NEVER....Work is the only solution.  Smart work, hard work and smart work.

Guardian Life Leaving LTC market, larry mcclendon nia

NIA owner larry mcclendon, nia, advises his sales force that Guardian Life Insurance Company of America says it will halt sales of long term care (LTC) insurance by the end of 2011.
Guardian, New York, has been selling individual j,LTC policies through its Berkshire Life Insurance Company of America unit since 2004.  Larry Gene McClendon comments that this will not effect NIA.
Guardian had a small presence in the LTC insurance market to ensure that its financial representatives had a comprehensive portfolio of products to address the changing needs of their clients, says Gordon Dinsmore, president of Berkshire Life, Pittsfield, Mass. Its decision to leave the market was made after an extensive review of the business and decided to focus on its core life and disability income insurance business, he said.
Guardian has fewer than 9,000 LTC policyholders, and those customers make up less than 1% of the company’s customer base, he says.
Guardian could reevaluate its plans and decide to discontinue sales of LTC insurance before the end of the year, Dismore says.  Larry Gene Mcclendon thinks this will have a big impact on the market.
Guardian will keep its promises to customers who already have Guardian LTC policies, Dinsmore says.
Because the company’s LTC policies are guaranteed renewable, coverage cannot be canceled if premiums are paid on time, and Guardian LTC policyholders can make changes to their coverage under the terms of their contracts as long as the contracts are in force, Disnmore says.
In November 2010, another insurer, MetLife Inc. (NYSE: MET), New York, said it would stop selling new LTC policies after the end of 2010.
Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long Term Care Insurance, Westlake Village, Calif., says MetLife and Guardian
have been at the opposite ends of the LTC insurance sales spectrum.
Newer players such as Guardian may believe that their ability to increase sales is not high enough to justify the cost of being in the business, Slome says.
“You really need to be focused to succeed in the business,” Slome says. “The insurance marketplace for long term care insurance is well defined.”
The market potential for LTC insurance is probably no bigger than 15 million to 18 million people, Slome estimates.

Everything about the trip was wonderful. From the resort to the prompt transportation to and from the resort it went seamlessly. The meeting was short and to the point with some very good info. It is always nice to wrap up the present situation and look into the future with the changing political climate. Thank you again for including us in the trip. We had a great time.

Thanks for an absolutely great trip to Mexico! Over the years Heather and I have been on a lot of incentive trips but this was the first one where everything was taken care of from start to finish: The plane tickets, the transportation, the hotel, the Drinks, the food, The Drinks, the golf, The Drinks while golfing, the spa, and all activities. Did I mention the Drinks? The resort was amazing! Its not too often you go to a place where they NEVER say "no." Anything you wanted they would take care of it for you. They had so many activities and things to do that the only time I left the resort was to beat Jason and Brian in golf! Thanks again for a truly first class trip from start to finish! We look forward to seeing what is next!

Are they even an MGA, Key Broker or FMO?  Do they have and office fully staffed or and executive suite with cell phones?  Service is key, why do business with people, agents who are struggling, from the used car industry and cannot nor have never ran a successful business?
NIA has been a pioneer for agents now for a decade and 1/2!  Stay with the tired and true on your very important career and consumers.
